Boundless Marketing’s 2025 FAB Recap
The Boundless Marketing Co. team at a FAB cocktail hour.
When you put 300 ambitious, passionate people in a room, the energy is undeniable. Make them all women in the food and beverage industry, and the ardor goes from undeniable to electric.
This year, the entire Boundless Marketing Co. team got to experience FAB, our favorite local conference. For three days, we learned how to better our business and the F&B industry, grew as professionals, and ate a LOT of good food.
As the founder of Boundless Marketing Co., the thing that keeps me coming back to FAB year after year is the opportunity to learn from other women in similar positions to myself. It’s rare to walk into a room and meet one other female entrepreneur in the same age range, let alone dozens of them.
Our Takeaways
To make the most of our time at FAB, our team split up to cover maximal ground. Here are our top takeaways from the week.
(1) “No is just the beginning of negotiation.”
Rejection isn’t personal; it’s just business. A no can mean a lot of different things: not now, not at this price, not in this way. A no is an opportunity to refine your business offerings and better understand the needs of your target audience. Another quote from the week that got to the heart of the matter: “No is a gift!”
(2) “You can’t scale what you don’t know.”
Understanding your numbers is critical for growth. What is your profitability index for each service you offer? What kind of time, resources, and programs do you need to double or triple your customer base? The speakers at FAB recommended Goldman Sachs’ 10,000 Small Businesses program to learn more, and our team is excited to apply.
(3) “Building capacity and capability will give you the time to make strategic decisions for your business.”
As the leader of a growing business, this quote really resonated with me. It underscores the importance of building your team thoughtfully and not waiting until you need more help to hire. Getting the right people in the right positions before you’re in a dire situation will set you up for long-term, sustainable success.
(4) “You don’t need to be the first to do anything. You just need to do whatever it is well.”
FAB is filled with women running mission-driven businesses. Making an impact on your community can feel intimidating when you’re so focused on the bottom line, but Jackson Flores outlined four steps to make a difference:
Listen to your community
Identify gaps and how you can use your skills to bridge them
Employ total transparency
Do what you say you’re going to do and commit yourself to the cause
(5) “You’re not behind. You’re becoming.”
Growth is not always linear! This quote was an incredible reminder that the destination is the journey. Business ownership is the adventure of a lifetime, and the Boundless team is enjoying the ride!
